How Much Does A Psychological Assessment Cost?

A young girl with dark hair smiling, and carrying a tan backpack.

Typically, a full assessment costs between $3600- $4950 depending on the complexity of the presenting problem. This price is based on guidelines from the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Many extended insurance plans and some Employee Assistance Plans (EAPs) cover psychological services either fully or partially. OHIP does not cover psychological services. Health plans differ so please check yours regarding coverage and procedures. We have recently heard of a provider that required a doctor’s referral first before the assessment began. Again please check with your benefit provider. Payments for the assessment will happen at the end of the first testing session, and the remainder when the report is finalized. Alternate arrangements are possible through negotiations. A receipt will be given when payment is received. This receipt should be retained for your health insurance plan or income tax plan, if applicable. Due to the increasing request for forms (such as Disability Tax Credit , OSAP, university accommodations, etc.) to be completed after assessments are shared, we will charge a flat fee of $75 per form. We will do our best to complete these in a timely matter
